Found in Papua New Guinea in lowland forest at elevations around 759 meters as a small to medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with a rhizome with persistent bracts giving rise to distant, cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic, acuminate apically, petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect to patent peduncle, 5.2 to 6.4" [13 to 16 cm] long, provided with about 7 bracts, rachis 1.4 to 2.4" [3.5 to 6 cm] long, dense raceme [16.5 to 24 cm] long overall, 8 to 22 flowered inflorescence with elliptic to ovate, obtuse, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
