Part shade Warm LATE Winter EARLY Spring

Common Name The Bluntly Pointed Bulbophyllum

Flower Size

Found in New Guinea on trees in forests at elevations around 700 meters as a small sized, warm growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to elliptic pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect-patent, broadly ovate to ovate, apiculate, subcordate below into base leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, very short, single flowered inflorescence with cucullate, acuminate floral bracts.

Schlechter states that this species is similar to B nummulariodes but the flower structure is definitely different. The flowers are carmine red, becoming whitish at the base.
