Found on Mindanao in the Philippines at elevations around 1600 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with conical, slightly grooved, clusted pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, ovblong-lanceolate, entirely glabrous, subsessile leaf that blooms in the late fall on a basal, peduncle with a conical bract, to 2" [5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence.

Similar to the Bornean B rutilans but differs in this one having hirsute ,margins to the floral segments, a longer inflorescence [5 vs 3 cm] and a papilate surface to the lip.
