Found in New Guinea, New Caledonia and Fiji in dense rain forests at elevations around 200 to 1200 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with close set, pear-shaped, hardly flattened pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, elliptic to obovate, acute leaf that blooms in the late spring through winter on an erect, Peduncle 1.2 to 2.6" [3 to 6.5 cm] long, 1.8 to 3" [4.5 to 7.5 cm] long overall, single flowered inflorescence with tubular, shorter than the ovary floral bracts
