Found in New Guinea in lower montane forest at elevations of 1300 to 1800 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to close-set, subparallel to the rhizome, subcylindrical, apex somewhat narrowed pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, linear, acute, usually more or less falcate-oblique, towards the base slightly narrowed into a petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring and again in the summer on a wiry, glabrous, .47 to 1" [1.75 to 2.5 cm] long, provided with a few, minute, distant small scales, single flowered inflorescence with very small, cucullate, apiculate, much shorter than the slender pedicellate ovary floral bracts.
