Found in Sabah Borneo in the understory of forests at elevations of 800 to 1000 meters as a small to medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome with hardly persistent bracts giving rise to distinct, at least 2.8 to 6.4" [7 to 16 cm] between each, obovoid, flattened pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, elliptic, acute, obtuse, petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect to patent, peduncle to 2.4 to 5.2" [6 to 13 cm] long, provided with 5 to 7 scales, rachis if present, .28 to 1.28" [.7 to 3.2 cm] long, 1 flowered or a simultaneously 2 to 3 flowered umbellate inflorescence with ovate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts
