Found in Malaysia, Sumatra and Borneo in montane forests at elevations around 1000 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool cold growing epiphyte with clustered, ovoid pseudobulbs carrying a single elliptic to ovate, obtuse, petiolate base leaf that blooms on a pendulous, peduncle 10 to 13.2" [25 to 33 cm] long, elongate, rachis 2.8 to 6.6" [9.5 to 16.5 cm] long, swollen, approx. cylindrical, tapering at both ends, 14 to 20" [35 to 50 cm] long overall, densely, simultaneously many, 8 to 40 flowered inflorescence with triangular, acuminate shorter than the ovary floral bracts .
