Found in east central Madagascar in forests at elevations of 720 to 2000 meters as a miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte or occasional lithopythe with close-set, oblong to ovoid-conical, pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, narrowly retracted-petiolate basally leaf that blooms in the summer on a basal, 3 1/4" to 4 3/4" [8 to 12 cm] long, racemose inflorescence with many closely spaced flowers
