Found in Madagascar at elevations around 800 meters as a miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte with a thin rhizome and 3/4" [2 cm] between each small, tetragonal, yellowish pseudobulb carrying 2 apical, oblong, thick leaves that blooms in the fall on a 6" [15 cm] long, with an apical grouping of red, imbricating, oval-acute bracts arranged in three rows and completely covering the small flowers
