Found in Madagascar in humid, lowland, evergreen forests at elevations around 300 to 1000 meters as a miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with a thin rhizome and 3/4" to 1.2" [2 to 3 cm] between each small, tetragonal, yellowish pseudobulb carrying 2 apical, oblong, thick leaves that blooms in the summer and fall on a 6" [15 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence with an apical grouping of red, imbricating, oval-acute bracts arranged in three rows and completely covering the small flowers
