Found from French Guiana, Surinam, Venezuela, Bolivia and Brazil as a miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with deeply ridged, narrowly ovoid-conical, strongly tetragon, slightly oblique pseudobulbs enveloped basally by a few sheaths and carrying 2, apical, rigid, strongly coriaceous, patent, slightly recurved in the apical half, slightly concave to sub-plane, narrowly oblong, obtuse gradually narrows below into the short, petiolate base leaf and blooms on a terete becoming swollen towards the apex, eret then arching, 12" [30 cm] long, laxly many flowered inflorescence enveloped below by submembraneous, distant, obtuse, tubular bracts .
