Found in New Guinea in lowland forests on trees at elevations around 300 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to ovoid-conic pseudobulbs and carrying a single, apical, erect, glabrous, ligulate, apiculate to shortly excise, attenuate below into the base leaf that blooms in the later winter and early spring on a basal, short, erect, provided with a few small, inconspicuous peduncle-scales, single flowered inflorescence with an ovate, apiculate, distinctly shorter than the ovary floral bract
