Common Name The Warty Bulbophyllum

Found in Ghana, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Nigeria, Central African Republic, Gabon, Zaire and Uganda at elevations of sealevel to 500 meters as a hot to warm growing epiphyte with conical pseudobulbs carrying two, apical, elliptic, acute leaf that blooms on a basal, 12" [30 cm][ long, several to many flowered inflorescence. This species and Genyorchis pumila are confused by many authorities saying Bulbophyllum pumilum is a syn of Genyorchis pumila but the later has two leaves and is red flowered while the former is single leafed and most often red to orange-brown flowered.
