Found in Indonesia and New Guinea at elevations of 600 to 2200 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte requiring shade, frequent watering and excellent air circulation. Found in montane forests on trees with subglobose- conical pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, lanceolate-ligulate, acuminate leaf that basally narrows into a short thin petiole. This species blooms in the fall on a pendant, 14" [35 cm] long, long pedunculate, several [7 to 15] flowered inflorescence.
