Found in Indonesia and New Guinea in montane forests on trees at elevations of 600 to 2200 meters as a small sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte with subglobose-conical pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, lanceolate-ligulate, acuminate, narrowing below into the short, thin, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a pendant, peduncle 5 to 12" [12.5 to 30 cm] long, 14" [35 cm] long overall, 4 to 15 flowered inflorescence with triangular, tip acute, much shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
This orchid to grow and flower well requires shade, frequent watering and excellent air circulation.
