Found in Sulawesi in low mossy montane forests and elfin forests at elevations of 1700 to 1800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome with .24 to .44" [.6 to 1.1 cm] between each distinct, somewhat prostrate, ascending, cylindrical, fused to the underlying rhizome pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, elliptic, acute to acuminate, petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect, peduncle .52 to .8" [1.3 to 2 cm] long, provided with 2 bracts, rachis .48 to .6" [1.2 to 1.5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with acute, shorter than the ovary floral bracts with the sepals and petals pale red with darker red veins and a brownish red lip.
