Found in Sabah Borneo in montane, moss and very dense forests on steep rocky sand stone ridges at elevations around 1500 to 2000 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome with .2 to .4" [.5 to 1 cm] between each ovoid, somewhat flattened or not pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, rather thin, elliptic to obovate, medium green, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late winter spring and fall on a 2.8 to 6" [7 to 15 cm] long overall, peduncle 2.6 to 5.8" [6.5 to 14.5 cm] long, rachis .12 to .2" [.3 to .5 cm] long, 5 to 11 flowered inflorescence with ovate, much shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying non-fragrant flowers with whitish sepals with purple veins towards the base, dark purple towards the apex, purple petals, a dark purple lip amd white cilia along the lateral sides, the paleae apically purple and a whitish column.
