Found in the Federal District, Minas Gerais, Rio de Janiero and Sao Paulo states of Brazil and Paraguay in Cerrado at elevations of 500 to 700 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with ovoid pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic to oblong, acute to obtuse leaf that blooms in the early summer on a thin, peduncle [4.3 to 5.8 cm] long, cylindrical, rachis [14.1 to 29.5 cm] long, pendulous, 64 to 80 flowered inflorescence

Similar to B micranthum but differs in the flat leaf, the 64 to 80 flowered inflorescence and the glabrous lip.
