Found in the Bismark Archipelago and Papua New Guinea at elevations around 500 meters with hanging branching rhizomes giving rise to apically recurved pseudobulbs that are basally adpressed to the rhizome and carry a single, apical, erect, acute, petiolate base leaf that blooms on a succcessively single, many flowered inflorescence.

This species requires a seasonally dry period and slab culture to survive.
