Found in the Bismark Archipelago and Papua New Guinea at elevations around 500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with hanging branching rhizomes envelopepd by coarsely ribbed, white bracts, giving rise to apically recurved pseudobulbs that are basally adpressed to the rhizome and carrying a single, apical, erect, strongly convex, acute, petiolate base leaf that blooms on a succcessively single, many flowered inflorescence.
This species requires a seasonally dry period and slab culture to survive.
