Found in northeastern Borneo in mmoxed tall forests at elevations of 800 to 1000 meters as a small to medium sized, warm growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome with 1 to 1.2" [2.5 to 3 between each distinct, ovoid to ellipsoid pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, erect, ellptic to ovate to obovate, obtuse, petilate base leaf that blooms on an erect, 4 to 6.4" [10 to 17 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence
Part of the B lobii complex, often refered to as a synonym of, but resurrected recently as a species. Differs from Bulbophyllum lobbii Lindley 1847 in the large thickened callus in the middle of the labellum
