Common Name The Self-Fertilizing Bulbophyllum

Flower Size 1 3/4" [4.5 cm]

Found in pennisular Malaysia, Borneo and the Luzon province of the Philippines in podosol forests on rocks and trunks of trees at elevations of 400 to 500 meters and is a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte and occasional lithophyte with a rhizome with to 1" [2.5 cm] between each, cylindric, conical, curved pseudobulb with a single, apical, leathery, erect, dark green, oblong to oblong-elliptic, gradually narrowing below into the channeled, petiolate base leaf that blooms on a basal, erect, terete, 8 to 24" [20 to 60 cm +] long, single flowered inflorescence with several tubular sheaths and triangular floral bracts that holds the wide opening, odor-less, flower above the leaves.

This orchid needs regular watering and high humidity.
