Found in New Guinea on hills at elevations around 400 to 900 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to ovoid-conic pseudobulbs carrying a single apical, erect, glabrous, narrowly linear, acute to apiculate, attenuate below into the base leaf that blooms in the late summer through fall on a very short, single flowered inflorescence with an ovate-cucullate, distinctly shorter than the ovary floral bract
