Found in the Uluguru mountains of Tanzania in montane forests at elevations around 1400 to 2000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with an elongate rhizome with .54 to 3.52" [1.4 to 8.8 cm] between each very narrowly ovoid to ellipsoid, slightly flattened, 4 angled pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, broadly lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, rounded apically, emarginate, either oblique or not, coriaceous, thick, midrib slightly prominent abaxially, shortly petiolate base leaves that blooms in the late spring summer and early fall on an erect to patent, peduncle slightly swollen towards the apex, 3.6 to 4.88" [5.4 to 12.2 cm] long, glabrous, with 6 to 9 tubular, acute to acuminate, membraneous bracts, rachis nodding, slightly swollen, slightly flattened, 4 angled in cross-section, with 2 concave sides from which the flowers arise, either slightly zig zag or not, .64 to 1.6" [1.6 to 4 cm] long, edges winged, straight, entire to irregularily dentate, glabrous, some open simultaneously, 5 to 16 flowered inflorescence that is 2.8 to 6.4" [7 to 16 cm] long overall, with recurved to spreading, concave, ovate, acute apically, membraneous, broadly based floral bracts and carrying distichous flowers that do not open well with yellowish or greenish tepals stained with purple and a yellowlip spotted with purple.
