Common Name The Shell-Like Leaf Bulbophyllum

Flower Size 1/2" [1.25 cm]

Found only in New Guinea in lowland forests st elevations around 150 meters as a mini-minature sized, hot growing epiphyte with an elongate rhizome giving rise to very small, adpressed to the rhizome, quadrangular, rugose pseudobulbs carrying a single, ovate-oblong, dull bluish dark green with blue-green and violet metallic shine, below deep violet-red, also with metallic shine, obtuse, strongly convex above with a longitudinal groove, concave beneath, rugulose, minutely papillose-finely warlt, thick, stifly fleshy, brittle leaf that blooms in the later winter on a very short, fasciled, successively single, many flowered inflorescence with a tubular, slightly funnel-shaped-widened, oblique, apiculate, punticulate floral bracts.
