Common Name The Blood-Red Bulbophyllum
Flower Size 1.5” [3.75 cm]
Found in Papua New Guinea and Irian Jaya in lower montane forests as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphytic species with 1.2" [3 cm], rugulose with age, pseudobulbs and a single, apical, elliptic to oblong-elliptic leaf that blooms on a very short, to .8" [2 cm] long, single to 2 flowered inflorescence that holds the very fleshy flower against the base of the pseudobulb.
Needs to be potted in an open medium, given warm to cool temperatures, dappled shade and good air circulation.
