Found in New Guinea in primary forests at elevations of 1800 to 3300 meters as a small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with a pendulous rhizome with .8 to 1.8" [2 to 4.5 cm] between each cylindrical, slightly flattened pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, triangular to elliptic, acute to acuminate, often cordate and petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter and spring on to 4, pendulous, .3 to 1.2" [.8 to 3 cm] long, successively single to 80 flowered inflorescence with ovate, acuminate floral bracts
