Found in Equatorial Guinea, Bioko and Sao Tome in abandoned coffee plantations at elevations around 1000 meters as a mini-miniature to miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a very short rhizome with .12 to .24" [.3 to .6 cm] between each ovoid, moderately flattened, 4 angled pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, oblong to lanceolate, acute to subacute apically, neither emarginate nor oblique, dark green suffused with purple, coriaceous, thick, midrib slightly prominent abaxially, shortly petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on an erect to patent, wiry, 2.4 to 3.2" [6 to 8 cm] long, glabrous, with 6 tubular, acute, membraneous bracts, rachis erect to slightly arching, terete, slightly zig zag bent, glabrous, 1.6 to 2.4" [4.5 to 6 cm] long, 11 to 14 flowered inflorescence that is 4.8" [12 cm] long overall, with spreading, triangular, acute, rather broad base floral bracts and carrying distichous, cleistogamus flowers.
