Common Name The Bent Leaved Bulbophyllum
Flower Size 1.6" [4 cm]
Found in Papua New Guinea on tall tree at elevations around 1760 meters as small sized, cool, pendent growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome with .52 to .8" [1.3 to 2 cm] between each shortly ovoid to thickly lenticular pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, pendulous, falcate, elliptic, acute, petiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect to patent, .8 to 1" [2 to 2.5 cm] long, 3 bracted, single flowered inflorescence with tubular, apiculate floral bracts.
According to J J Vermuellen this orchid is closest to B speciosum but differs in having longer and narrower leaves and a shorter inflorescnece and in having tapering, strongly decurved petals.
