Found in New Guinea in forests at elevations around 900 to 1000 meters as a large sized, warm growing epiphyte with .8" [2 cm] between each cylindric pseudobulb carrying a single apical, erect, ovate-lanceolate, subacute, shortly contracted into the base leaf that blooms in the fall on a successively fasiculate, provided with a few peduncle scales, single flowered inflorescence with distinctly shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
