Common Name The Dense Leaved Bulbophyllum
Flower Size
Found in New Guinea in forests at elevations around 1300 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with cylindrical pseudobulb carrying a single apical, erect, ovate-elliptic, obliquely apiculate, narrowing below into the base leaf that blooms in the early summer on a very short, single flowered inflorescence.
Schlechter states that the plant is unique for its very dense foliage and its unusual truncated, very short stelida. The flowers are whitish, the sepals have red stripes, the lip is red, the anther is golden yellow and the column foot has a red spot.
