Common Name The Divergent Bubophyllum [refers to the mid veins of the lateral sepals]

Found in Sulawesi in sago swamps at elevations of 800 to 1200 meters as a miniature to just small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome enveloped by persistent, enveloping the pseudobulbs rhizome scales with .2 to .48" [.5 to 1.2 cm] between each small, ovoid, not angular pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic, obtuse, petiolate base leaf that blooms on a patent peduncle 10 to 11.2" [25 to 28 cm], provided with 3 bracts, rachis nodding, 1.98" [4.5 cm] long, very dense, ellipsoid-cylindrical raceme, 12 to 13.2" [30 to 33 cm] long overall, about 50 flowered inflorescence with acute, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
