Found in Sabah Borneo in lower montane forests in shrubby vegetation at elevations around 800 to 1800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with an close set, ovoid pseudobulb carrying a single apical, erect, elliptic to ovate, obtuse to acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter, spring and summer on an erect, peduncle 4 to 7.2" [10 to 18 cm] long, provided with c. 4 bracts, rhachis not thickened, 2 to 2.8" [5 to 7 cm] long, glabrous, successively single, 11 to 20 flowered inflorescence with triangular, slightly acuminate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
