Found in Bolivar states of Venezuela at elevations around 1200 to 1400 meters, as a miniature sized, cool growing, unifoliate epiphyte with pyriform, transversely elliptical, rough pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, flat, lanceolate, acute, constricted below into the base leaf that blooms in the winter on a basal, erect for 2.5 to 4.5" [6.25 to 11.5 cm] then abruptly turning to 90 degrees or more, slender, 4 to 6" [10 to 15 cm] long, provided with a cylindrical sheath, laxly 4 to 6 flowered inflorescence.
Separated from others in the Colombian Dactyle group by the very short petals which are as long as wide vs petals distinctly longer than wide.
