Common Name The Acute Lobed Bulbophyllum

Found in Sulawesi on twigs in mossy montane forest at elevations of 1200 to1400 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing, understory epiphyte with close set, erect, ovoid pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic to ovate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall winter and spring on a basal, erect, 2.4" [6 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with a tubular, acute floral bract.

"A small group of similar looking species with ciliate petals and a more or less ciliate median sepal exists, all originating from the Philippines: B. aestivale Ames and B. cubicum Ames have a lip with much shorter keels proximally on the adaxial side, and a wider top part; B. apoense, has acute-acuminate petals and a glabrous lip."
