Found in Minas Gerais, Sao Paulo, Goias and Bahia states of Brazil and Bolivia on rocks in grasslands at elevations around 1000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing lithophyte with clustered ovoid to globose pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, fleshy, semicylindrical, linear-lanceolate, acute leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, sinuous, 3.6" [9 cm] long, to 15 flowered inflorfescence
