Found in New Guinea at elevations around 1000 meters as a small, warm to cool growing epiphyte with narrowly cylindrical psuedobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, obliquely ligulate, acute, petiolate-attenuate base leaf that blooms in the summer on an erect, .6 to 1" [1.5 to 2.5 cm] long, few bracted, single flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are yellowish with fine red veins on the sepals and a green lip and column.
