Found in New Guinea in range forests at elevations around 600 to 800 meters as a large sized, warm growing epiphyte with .2 to .6" [.5 to 1.5 cm] between each cylindrical-conical pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, linear, acute, narrowing below intothe base leaf that blooms in the late fall through early spring on a very short, single flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are pale pink with red spotted sepals and red striped petals.
