Found in New Guinea in range forests at elevations around 1300 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with .6 to .8" [1.5 to 2 cm] between each depressed, subcylindrical pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, subpatent, elliptic to lanceolate-elliptic, acute, narrowing below into the base leaf that blooms in the late winter through early spring on a very short, single flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are rose red becoming white at the base and the column is white.
