Found in New Guinea in range forests on trees and shrubs at elevations around 70 to 500 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte with small ovoid pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, oblanceolate-ligulate, apiculate, attenuate into the subpetiolate base leaf that blooms in the later fall through winter on a setiform, erect, few bracted, .8" [2 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with cucullate, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying non resupinate flowers.
Schlechter states that the flowers are violet-brown with darker petals and lip.
