Found in New Guinea on trees at elevations around 300 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with .6 to .8" between each cylindrical, subparellel to the rhizome pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, erect, elliptic to elliptic-ligulate, apiculate, attenuate into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late winter and earlier spring on a short, few bracted, single flowered inflorescence with very small, distinctly shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
Schlechter states that the flowers are dark red brown.
