Common Name Gehrt's Bulbophyllum [Original Collector of species 1900's]

Flower Size .4" [1 cm]

Found in Minas Gerais state of Brazil in native cerrado forests at elevations around 300 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte with deltoid, transversely elliptic, green, rugose pseudobulbs carrying a single apical, erect, coriaceous, linear, flat, acute, constricted below into the base leaf that blooms in the earlier fall on a basal, erect, to 4" [10 cm] long, rachis to .4 to .8" [1 to 2 cm] long, cylindrical, pendulous, thin, 3 to 5 flowered inflorescence envelopd completly by bracts, the basal inconspicuous, the others less so and not imbricate, the bracts of the rachis sessile and not imbricate and carrying simultaneously opening pendent flowers .
