Found in New Guinea in montane forests at elevations around 800 to 1300 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with conical-cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying an erect, narrowly lanceolate-ligualte, acute, glabrous, narrowing below into the petiolate-attenuate base leaf that blooms in the fall, winter and spring on an erect-patent, 2.8" to 6" [7 to 15 cm] long, sublaxly successively single, several flowered inflorescence with distichous, ovate, apiculate, much shorter than the ovary floral bracts
