Common Name The Delicate Bell Bulbophyllum [refers tothe pendent flowers]
Flower Size .4 x 1" [1 x 2.5 cm]
Found in western New Guinea in moss at elevations of 2600 to 2700 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with .12 to .24" [3 to 6 mm] between each clustered, distinct, obliquely erect, ovoid pseudobulb carrying a single , apical, erect, elliptic to elliptic-oblong to obovate, subacute, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on a single to fascile of a few, basal, peduncle 2.6 to 2.8" [6.5 to 7 cm] long, provided with 3 scales, 4.4 to 4.8" [11 to 12 cm] long overall, single flowered inflorescence with much shorter than the the ovary floral bracts.
Differs from B scutiferum by the its much longer sepals which are acuminate-caudate and by the distincttly protruding lower margin of the stigma.
