Found in New Guinea on trees in lower range forests at elevations around 800 meters as a small sized, warm growing epiphyte with close set, cylindrical-conical pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, obliquely ligulate, acute, narrowing below into the subpetiolate base leaf that blooms late fall and early winter on an extremely short, single flowered inflorescence ovate-lanceolate, acute, shorter than the ovary floral bracts.

Schlechter states that the flowers are whitish striated with red and the lip is red.
