Found in New Guinea on trees in range forests at elevations around 800 meters as a small sized, warm growing epiphyte with close set, cylindrical-conical pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, obliquely ligulate, acute, narrowing below into the subpetiolate base leaf that blooms late fall and early winter on an extremely short, single flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are whitish striated with red and the lip is red.
