LATE THROUGH MID
Common Name The Tangled Bulbophyllum
Flower Size tiny
Found in northern and central Madagascar in seasonally dry, deciduous woodlands at elevations around sea-level to 800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with .4 to .8” [1 to 2 cm] between each, 4 to 5 sided pseudobulb carrying a single, apical leaf that blooms on a fractiflex, dark purple, alternatley 2 ranked, rachis to .8” [2 cm] long, 2.6” [9 cm] long overall, successively few to several flowered inflorescence with purple, acute floral bracts.
CAUTION!!!! Said to be a synonym of B minutum by many, but J J Vermuellen 2014 maintains that this is a separate species, so I await better references, but if the photo is IDed correctly then it certainly is another species. Siegerist maintains that the flowers are dark purple so the ID is in question!
