Found in Sabah Borneo in mixed montane and Podozol forests at elevations around 1100 to 1700 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome with .48 to 1.2" [1.2 to 3 cm] between each discoid, not flattened, pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, dark green suffused with brownish orange to orange red, rather thick, elliptic, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on a 1 to 7.6" [2.5 to 19 cm] long overall, peduncle, rachis and pedicel orange, peduncle .56 to 3.6" [1.4 to 9 cm] long, rachis .44 to 2.4" [1.1 to 6 cm] long, 3 to 13 flowered inflorescence with triangular, shorter than the ovary floral bracts and carrying non-fragrant flowers with burnt orange tepals, and a slightly darker orange lip.
