Common Name The Narrow Tongued Bulbophyllum [refers to the lip]
Flower Size .08" [2 mm]
Found in Papua New Guinea in rather dense primary forest at elevations around 20 meters as a mini-miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte with .26 to .8" [.9 to 2 cm] between each shortly cylindrical pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, erect, ovate, acute, petiolate base leaf that blooms on a porrect, [1.6 cm] long, clustered, dense, to 5 flowered inflorescence with an tubular, acute floral bract.
According to J J Vermuellen - "Bulbophyllum lagaroglossum is similar to B B. lepanthiflorum Schltr. in habit and sepal shape. Bulbophyllum lagaroglossum differs in having apiculate sepals (with subulate, distinct appendages in B. lepanthiflorum), and a very narrow lip (index length/width 1.62 in B. lepanthiflorum) with an upturned apical part."
