Found in New Guinea in forests at elevations around 1300 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with close set, cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, linear-ligulate, subapiculate leaf that blooms in the late fall on a basal, thin, filiform, to 4.8" [to 12 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence

Schlechter states that the flowers are yellow with red longitudinal veins on the inside and the petals and lip are spotted with light red.
