Found in New Guinea in forests at elevations around 1300 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with close set, cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, linear-ligulate, subapiculate leaf that blooms in the late fall on a basal, thin, filiform, to 4.8" [to 12 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with very small, cucullate, apiculate, almost 5 times shorter than the pedicellate ovary floral bracts.
Schlechter states that the flowers are yellow with red longitudinal veins on the inside and the petals and lip are spotted with light red.
