Found in east northeastern Madagascar in Araucaria forests at elevations of 1000 to 1100 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with a branching rhizome giving rise to oblong, with .12 to .2" [3 to 5 mm] between each, green more or less suffused with red pseudobulbs carrying 2 apical, erect, linear-lanceolate, acute, slightly thick, darker green and whitish lined above, light green beneath leaves that blooms in the late fall on an erect, peduncle provided with 2 to 3 tubular sheaths at the base and another separate above, .8 to 1.2" [2 to 3 cm] long,single flowered inflorescence with hyaline, clasping shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
