Found in New Guinea on trees in range forests at elevations around 1000 meters as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with close set, conical-cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, ligulate, obtusenarropwing below intothe subpetiolate base leaf that blooms in the later fall and winter on an erect, very short, single flowered inflorescence.

Schlechter states that the flowers are lustrous red with a snow white dorsal sepal.
