Found in New Guinea in montane forests at elevations of 300 to 1500 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with a thick rhizome enveloped by brown bracts and carrying oblong-cylindric, adpressed to the rhizome pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, ligulate-elliptic, apiculate, attenuate basally leaf and blooms on a basal, 2 3/4 to 3 5/8" [7 to 9 cm] long, sublax, secund, white inflorescence with a white rhachis and bracts occuring in the summer
