Found in New Guinea on trees in range forests at elevations around 250 to 300 meters as a miniature to small sized, hot growing epiphyte with close set, subparellel to the rhizome, cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect-patent, linear, acute to apiculate, narrowing below into the base leaf that blooms in the fall and winter on an erect, short, single flowered inflorescence with very small, distinctly shorter than the ovary floral bracts.
Schlechter states that the flowers are yellowish with red stripes inside, the petals have red markings and the lip is red.
